As a continuation of monthly Toastmaster (TM) program, Pax Earth Nepal conducted its 3rd Pax Earth Toastmaster on Saturday 21st Feb 2009 at its older venue Mrigasthali Café, Pashupati, Kathmandu in the midst of woods enriched with pleasant natural environment. The TM program started at 3.45 following the First Board Meeting after its Initial General Meeting (IGM).

President Mr. Sujan Koirala called meeting to order by introducing special guests Mr. Nilambar Badal, Secretary, OCCED Nepal Youth Club, Mr. Dinesh Rai and Mr. Rabindra Neupane, Member Prisma Toastmasters and Toastmaster of the day Mr. Manohar Sapkota. He formally welcomed guests, participants and audiences. Theme of the day was “Mero Jivan” meaning “My Life.” The standard language of speaking was Nepali. TM Manohar Sapkota was also holding the job of Table Topic Master (TTM).

Mr. Sapkota introduced Speech Evaluator Mr. Prem Shah, Timer Mr. Bal Gopal Shrestha, Grammarian Mr. Guna Raj Pyakurel, Ah-Counter Mr. Dipendra Dangol and General Commentator Mr. Nilambar Badal. He then introduced manual speakers Mr. Shreebatsa Basnyat and Mr. Harihar Sapkota who were to give speech on “My Life.” They both expressed their genuine views and experiences about their past and present life and also shared their future endeavours. Each of them was given 5 minutes to deliver their speech.

Table Topic (TT) session began with the speech of Mr. Binod Mainali on “Today’s Meeting Environment.” Following him, Mr. Sudarshan Risal spoke on “Mobile and My Life.” Mr. Bidur Khatri was given the topic “Pax Earth’s Dhulikhel Picnic.” He recalled his memory of the picnic. The last speaker on TT was Mr. Shovanand Yadav. He was given the topic “Self Introduction.” He introduced himself in a skillful and attractive way. Each TT speaker was given 3 minutes to deliver their speech. The topics for the TT session were given by TTM at the spot.

After the speech session, Speech Evaluator Mr. Shah, Timer Mr. Shrestha, Grammarian Mr. Pyakurel and Ah-Counter Mr. Dangol presented their reports on manual speeches and TT speeches. Mr. Nilambar Badal who was observing overall meeting thoroughly presented his general comments on the speakers and the meeting. All the evaluators are satisfied with the presentation skills of the speakers.

At the end of the programme, the audiences applauded all the speakers as their priceless rewards. However, the evaluators committee picked Mr. Yadav as the best speaker of the day for his clear, attractive and smooth introduction in the given 3 minutes time. All the participants gave a big round of applause for his excellent presentation.

President Mr. Koirala took control over TM programme. He requested the guests to deliver their remarks on the day’s TM programme. Guest and well-wisher Mr. Nilambar Badal expressed his remarks on the overall programme. Friend and well-wisher Mr. Rabindra Neupane was very delighted with the organization of the programme. He recalled his experiences of Prisma Toastmasters. He has been actively involved in Prisma Toastmaster for the last one year. Guest Mr. Dinesh Rai was quite impressed with this activity of Pax Earth. He congratulated President Mr. Koirala for organizing such a commendable event aimed at improving presentation, communication and leadership skills of the speakers. Guests Mr. Nabin Rai, Mr. Umesh Acharya, Mr. Prabhakar Acharya and Mr. Sachin Koirala appreciated the programme and wished TM programme to be continued in a larger extent.

The 60 minutes long TM programme formally came to an end by President Mr. Koirala’s closing remarks. This time the participation was significant. 19 persons attended the programme.
