The Ninth Board Meeting of Pax Earth Nepal was held at its Secretariat, Pashupati, Kathmandu during 18:00hrs to 20:00hrs on Thursday November 1, 2012. The meeting was chaired by President Mr. Sujan Koirala and attended by the following Board Members:
1. Mr. Sujan Koirala – President
2. Mr. Shreebatsa Basnyat – Vice President
3. Mr. Binod P. Mainali – Secretary
4. Mr. Bal Gopal Shrestha – Treasurer
5. Mr. Guna Raj Pyakurel – Joint Secretary
6. Mr. Laxman B. Pahari – Executive Member
After a meaningful discussion on key agendas, the Board made few important decisions. The agendas and decisions are presented below.
Agenda 1) Finalising a program schedule for PEJ President Dr. Soko Aoki, Advisor respected Mr. Masaya Arao and other delegates’ upcoming Nepal visit
Decision: The Board, after comprehensive discussion, finalised a program schedule for PEJ President Dr. Soko Aoki, Advisor respected Mr. Masaya Arao and other delegates’ upcoming Nepal visit from November 3, 2012 to November 6, 2012.
Agenda 2) PEN Membership to few deserving candidates
Decision: The Board unanimously made a decision to grant PEN membership to the following individuals who have fulfilled all necessary criteria and condition of becoming a PEN member:
a. Mr. Kapil Deuja
b. Mr. Ram Sharan Paudel
c. Mr. Dev Raj Karki
d. Ms. Jamuna Siwakoti
3. Miscellaneous:
a. The Board made a decision to change the floor carpet of the Secretariat.
b. The Board made a decision to award a certificate to the participants of English Language class run by PEN Secretariat.
c. The Board made a decision to award certificates to the best speakers of PEN Toastmasters.
At the end, President Mr. Koirala thanked all Board Members for their active and valuable participation and formally adjourned the meeting.
