The certificate distribution ceremony of “1st Youth Leadership Development Camp,” a warm-up event of Pax Earth was organized on 25th October 2008 at Community Hall, Kumarigal, Kathmandu . Chief Guest Associate Professor of Tribhuvan University and environmental activist Mr. Hriseekesh Upadhyay began the programme by lighting an oil lamp.

Mr. Shreebatsa Basnyat welcomed all the guests, participants, parents and youths. In his welcome speech, Mr. Basnyat threw light on how the Pax Earth was founded. Mr. Manohar Sapkota presented the report of the camp. He addressed the importance of the training in improving the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual capacities of the participants ultimately leading towards improving their leadership skills.

Mr. Laxman Sharma Neupane, Miss Rojee Munakarmi and Mr. Rabindra Neupane shared their camp experience and highlighted the importance of such camp in removing weaknesses and shortcomings, strengthening strengths, learning new skills, developing ideas and turning ideas into actions. They strongly
insisted Pax Earth to continue conducting such camp on a regular interval.

Mr. Akhil Devkota, Branch Manager of Citizens Bank International Ltd., guest, addressed the need of such camps and assured to extend all possible supports to the organization.

Mr. Deep Bahadur Basnyat, social worker, guest, appreciated the work done by Pax Earth and wished such activities to continue in the days ahead.

Mr. Dil Bahadur Dangol, social worker, guest, was very happy to know about the camp and congratulated Pax Earth in successfully conducting the very first event and extended best wishes to attain greater heights in the days to come.

Chief Guest Mr. Upadhyay presented certificate of participation and letter of appreciation to the participants and members of organizing committee of “1st Youth Leadership Development Camp.”

Chief Guest Mr. Hriseekesh Upadhyay congratulated Pax Earth for organizing such a wonderful event. He explained the broad meaning of “Pax Earth” as his field of teaching is English. “Pax earth” represents the whole world and in Nepali its’ additional meaning is “samagra biswa” or “samagra bhugol.” He wants Pax Earth to work in addressing the environmental issue and improving the quality of life. He raised several environmental issues and offered tips to solve these issues. He insisted Pax Earth to involve in making our
societies a better place to live. He has assured to extend all possible supports and is ready for any kind of interaction, dialogue, collaboration and support. He extended best wishes for Pax Earth in achieving its
objectives.

Mr. Sujan Koirala, Chairman of the programme and the President of Pax Earth, Nepal, gave vote of thanks to the participants and members of organizing committee of the “1st Youth Leadership Development Camp” and all the guests, friends, parents, youths and others present on the certificate distribution ceremony.

Cold drinks and snacks were served at the end of the programme. More than 50 persons observed the certificate distribution ceremony.
