The members, friends and well-wishers of Pax Earth were involved in a picnic programme at Dhulikhel Park, Dhulikhel, Kavre Palanchowk on Saturday November 08, 2008.

The journey began at 8.45am from Kathmandu. After 1hr15mn traveling from Kathmandu, we reached at Dhulikhel Park where our dear friends from Banepa had already involved in making necessary arrangements.

Even a short hike to the top of the hill where a small statue of Goddess (Devi Than) is located was remarkable. Besides paying homage to Goddess, we could have a view of majestic White Mountains (mainly Mt. Jugal, Mt. Gaurishanker and Mt. Ganesh), green hills, forests, landscape and a clear sky from the top of the hill. Though for a while, it gave an eternal peace to everybody. The clear sky richness with all the natural environment and a cool breeze were offering a relax atmosphere to everyone where we could breathe fresh air far from the polluted Kathmandu valley.

Electrifying music and sound system could create vibration in everybody surrounding there and stimulate him/her to enter into the dance floor without any hesitation. Live performance by Mr. Sachin Koirala, Mr. Manohar Sapkota and other friends not only provided the exhilarating entertainment to our group members but also drew the attention of most of the crowds and visitors out there. Everyone was so excited singing, dancing, playing cards, caricaturing, gossiping, taking pictures, etc.

Mr. Laxman Neupane made the moment more exciting with his extraordinary talent of conducting the bingo programme in an outstanding way. It was a real mind blowing event for everyone involved in the picnic. Mr. Sujan Koirala conducted the musical ring, a fun game, which had increased the curiosity and excitement among participants. This event could bring non-stop smiling in the face of all the participants.

The food was served thrice during the whole day. The food and water management was excellent. Undoubtedly, the venue was quite appropriate for all the members. It not only offered a pleasant atmosphere but was well equipped with all the necessary facilities. The members could enjoy every bit of the event. The singing and dancing kept on continuing till the bus stopped at Koteshwor. The journey which had begun at 8.45am came to an end at 7.00 PM. Altogether 38 persons (6 members from Banepa and 32 members from Kathmandu valley) participated in the picnic programme.

Miss Rojee Munakarmi deserves a big round of applause for the initiatives and overall arrangements of the picnic. We also appreciate the role played by Miss Shanta Dahal and Miss Rina Manandhar in supporting Miss Rojee in her initiatives and arrangements. The role played by Mr. Sujan Koirala in successfully coordinating the members from the Kathmandu valley is praiseworthy. Mr. Shree Om Byanju also deserves a special thank for his technical support from beginning till the end.

If we assimilate the remarks, opinions and reactions of the participants, the conclusion is: “Once is not enough and Pax Earth should organize the next picnic very soon.”
